Who's up for a really short road trip? Baxter and Ann of the Hoop Path are coming to town! Well, they're coming to Ojai. I took my first Hoop Path workshop almost exactly a year ago and it was a mind-blowing experience. Bax teaches techniques, not tricks, and they are applicable for hoopers of any skill level from beginner to professional. I know it's a bit of a drive to Ojai, but it's worth it! I'm so excited about all the teachers who will be there - the Hoop Path, Anah, GrooveHoops, FireGroove, Jewels, Spiral, BunnyHoopStar, Shredder - eeeeeee! I wasn't able to make it to the Hoop Convergence this month, so I'm glad that I can go to Hoop Camp (not having to buy a plane ticket helps a lot!). -

Mon, April 7, 2008 - 12:07 PMHoopCamp is seriously drool worthy, but eek the price is sooooo steep!!! I'm appreciative of the inclusive meals and other such stuff for some, but that doesn't leave room for the workin' class eh? $480 for only two nights was it?
I wonder if they knew about Camp Cutter... where raindance and firedance are? It's a fabulous location too, also santa cruz mountains, campgrounds, swimming pool, lake, dining hall, everything... and WAAAY cheaper! maybe it was booked.
Oh well, I'll just gotta get my hoop on at one of the other amazing gatherings going on this season!

Mon, April 7, 2008 - 5:56 PMI really wanted to go to the Hoop Convergence, but $350 registration plus lodging plus a $500 plane ticket was too much for me after finding out that in addition to my sister's wedding, two of my cousins are getting married this summer too. Ack! Not having to buy a plane ticket is what sealed the deal for me with Hoop Camp. Plus I won't have to take as much time off from work for Hoop Camp. I have to watch my vacation hours with all of these upcoming weddings!
It's too late for this year, but maybe you could suggest Camp Cutter to Heather (the Hoop Camp organizer) for next year!
At least we will get to see you in SF!
