Did you know that they are building this path? It's a Class 1 path (off the street) path from Poly to Avila Beach! Did you know that they just opened a new stretch from Prado to (nowhere) along the freeway?

The topic of the radio talk is the small stretch from Poly to Foothill Blvd. It's short, but someone has to pay for it... I'm sure they'll talk a little about the big picture though.

4pm today, the webcast should be here:

  • Wow! I did not know that! That's way cool.

It's just amazing that bike supporters are being listened to enough to get REAL bike paths made here.

The one from Prado along the freeway, is that going south?

The one from poly though is huge... think of all those student commuters on bike! I commuted on bike for my years at poly and its horrendous really. I would have killed for a designated bike path not running along california or santa rosa to get downtown.

    ah well.

    thanks for the post brian.
    • I don't know the exact route, and I heard that there is a small gap where you have to "switch" trails. Anyways, I'm going to make it my mission to get the word out about the trail.

If you saw the article in the Tribune yesterday about the bridge... Someone commented online that it was a waste of money. Annoys me so much - they probably drive a Hummer and are happy about it. :p

Yes, the existing trail goes from Prado south. It's peaceful out there - there won't be anyone on the trail cuz it doesn't go anywhere yet. Check it out. Prado at Higuera - the trailhead is kinda hidden behind some trees, but you'll find it.
