Hi Friends!!

I have so much information to share with you this month. I know that we all have a lot of Love for the cafe and the community that is created through this gathering space. I feel closely connected to the service that I provide daily to our community. I am honored to share this information with you and help support the cafe which we here call "Experiment in Faith".

Firstly, Smiling Dog Cafe is growing and is requiring some remodel to be approved by the Health Dept. The remodel has to take place in order for the cafe to continue to do business. The remodel is scheduled to begin the week of April 13th. The cafe requires assistance in this growth process. A deposit of $1200.00 is due before the project starts and $1200.00 after it is completed. To gather funds quickly we here at the cafe have come up with an idea to propose to you. For the next 3 weeks we will be selling $100 gift cards (or more if you wish). The gift cards will be honored after the cafe has it's GRAND RE-OPENING CELEBRATION. This way the cafe gets the remodel money up front and you will have the gift of receiving the best food in slo after it reopens.
Another idea we have is offering up family size pots of freshly made, organic, vegan soups for $40 in the month of April. All the collections will go towards helping the cafe transistion into the change. You can order your soup by calling the cafe or reply to the email. Of course if you feel inspired to give freely to the project, that's perfect too. Checks can be mailed to Smiling Dog Cafe 1227 Archer, San Luis Obispo, Ca 93401.

More news...THE FRIDAY NIGHT POTLUCKS THIS MONTH ARE APRIL 3rd & 17th!!! Please come and bring a LIVE VEGAN ORGANIC DISH TO SHARE, YOUR OWN PLATE & FLATWARE, a musical instrument or a song, gratitude & Love. The potluck begins at 7pm and ends around 10. The address is 640 Caudill Street, San Luis Obispo. Call if you have any questions.

April Class Offerings:

All classes are $50 for three hours (11am to 2pm) including instructions and all the recipes! Class min. is 6 and max is 12. All seats have to be pre-registred & pre-paid. Please mail checks to the address above or stop by the cafe.

Sunday April 19th ~ Live Food Prep made Easy ~ This class will have 5 new Live cuisine recipes that you can pre-make for your week ahead. The focus will be on how to stay Live in a busy life!

And one last BIG EVENT to mention.....

Many of you already know of these two, in the Raw Food Community they are a bit of celebrity status.

MATT MONARCH & ANGELA STOKES will be here at SMILING DOG CAFE FRIDAY APRIL 24th from 6:30 to 9:00pm. They will be sharing with us about their transformation through the raw food lifestyle. Both are authors of GREAT RAW FOOD BOOKS! We are very excited to be sharing this space with them. The cost for the event is $15 and the cafe WILL be open before the event and have a dinner offering that night as well. Please call ahead and reserve a special plate if you wish to have one ready for you to enjoy. We will also have fun desserts and tea. The event will be out in the court yard so please dress warmly.

I know this is a lot of information to take in. I appreciate this work I am doing so much. Everyday I am grateful for this opportunity to serve our community in this way. Thank YOU so much for helping to support this faith experiment we call the cafe.
